Writer’s choice
It takes a lot of courage to live in a new environment. It is not easy to get used to a new environment or community where people have a different set of beliefs and practices. This is because you may face linguistic, cultural, and racial differences in a new environment. I was born and raised in Japan. I had never experienced a different culture or interacted with people who went through different cultures. My dream is to become a successful business person, and I felt that studying in the United States would provide a perfect opportunity to learn and experience more in business than I would have done in Japan. I decided to come to study in the United States to have an experience of a new environment.
I made the decision to come to the United States since I failed the entrance exams of my preferred university in Japan. I was born and raised in Japan, and I have schooled in Japan for more than ten years. In high school, I gained an interest in business, and I dreamt of becoming a successful business person in the future. While other students wanted to become engineers, lawyers, and doctors, I felt that pursuing business would help me become an influential individual to society and my country, Japan. After graduating from high school. I wanted to join Waseda University, where I would take a business course in English. However, I got rejected by Waseda University. I was disappointed at first and felt that I was not sufficient enough for a college education. My high school friends were being admitted to different universities, and I felt challenged. When I consulted with my parents, they suggested taking me abroad for studies. I felt this was a great opportunity to achieve my goal in business. After consulting from the Internet and with my parents, we made a decision that I would go to the United States to pursue a course in business studies.
