For this assignment, you will be addressing a famous case regarding the balance of national security versus civil liberties and rights. In 1942, President Roosevelt issued Executive Order 9066 on the basis of national security. This executive order had significant ramifications for civil liberties and civil rights. Research the history of Executive Order 9066. You should also research the case Korematsu v. the United States that resulted from this decision. Then discuss how these decisions balanced (or failed to balance) national security and civil rights.
