To cite lines of poetry, remember to place a slash (/) between lines of poetry within a sentence. When quoting dialogue, use a quote within a quote (“’ ‘”). Prose quotes are formatted in the usual way. Remember to include a citation at the end of each sentence that contains research material.

Go to the UHV/VC library website and search for Abigail Adams. Choose Limit by Source Type of the left-hand side and choose primary. There are two of her letters. The first dealing with the women’s rights issue that we discussed in class, the second discussing Shay’s Rebellion. Please prepare a response that answers one of the two prompts below: What does she see as part of the cause of Shay’s Rebellion? How does that reflect some of the other concerns of the era that we have discussed? What is she petitioning her husband for in terms of women? Why was that important? Again, this does not have to be a long, formal essay, but at least one to two well-developed paragraphs.
