History of NJ Labor

For this week’s paper, use primarily the Bezís-Selfa article (though you can reference other readings).  In particular, what is he saying about why New Jersey and Pennsylvania iron manufacturers used slaves?  Does he make a good case using solid evidence?  Do you think this point might have some more general relevance in the story of labor in New Jersey?
