Elie Wiesel

Instructions
You must:
1. Have an introductory paragraph. In your introduction, you must give the author’s full name and the names of the pieces of writing you are using. You must have a thesis statement that gives the reason that he/she writes and that it applies to this other text. This is one sentence that sums up their writing process/reason in one clear claim.

2. Prove your thesis in the body of your essay with direct evidence from the novel, including exact quotes that are properly cited.

A. Use AT LEAST 3 examples from the text to prove your thesis/claim.

B. Each example is in a separate, well organized paragraph that includes its own claim, evidence, and warrant.

C. Therefore, you need at least 3 body paragraphs aligning why an author says they write with what you see in their writing. More than 3 body paragraphs is excellent.

3. Have a solid, separate concluding paragraph that sums up your entire essay and restates your thesis (using different words).

4. Include a Works Cited page.

Additional Requirements:

As always, if you do not have a draft prepared on time for peer review, then I will not accept the final draft.

As always, this essay must also be in proper MLA format, including the correct headings, formatting, in-texts citations, and works cited page.

This essay needs to be at minimum 2 – 3 pages (works cited pages do not count in your page count).
