Effective business reports contain supporting data and relevant information taken from databases, journals, newspapers, trade publications

Effective business reports contain supporting data and relevant information taken from databases, journals, newspapers, trade publications, etc. These documents are written in standard business block format (single-spaced, left justified, etc.) and use APA format to cite sources, in text and in the reference page.

Situation
Your success reaches new heights at an impressive rate. You have been promoted to partner at YLC, and you are the most sought-after consultant on the roster. Given your strong background in analytics, your colleagues can benefit from your insight as they offer clients different business strategies.

Your partners at YLC suggested you write a report which presents information on the credit industry. This report will be a resource for YLC consultants serving the credit industry clients. Your challenge is to present information on the credit industry in a professional and accessible manner.

Message Content (3 to 4 pages not including title and reference pages)
Using the articles that you found for your annotated bibiliography, briefly summarize relevant information from the articles in a 3- to 4-page report and use APA format to cite these articles in the body of your document and your reference page.

Demonstrate your ability to:
• Locate at least 7 relevant, credible, and recent (since 2015) articles from at least three UA databases (IBISWorld, Business Source Complete, Proquest, etc.)

• Provide a cover page which includes your name, date, and title

• Start your report with an introductory paragraph including context – in this case, a general statement about the topic at hand. Then, provide a clear and relevant purpose statement and a forecast that previews the sections of the document
o Since this is a report and not a correspondence, fashion the introduction for a wide audience (third person/no pronouns), and avoid first or second person throughout the document

• Construct a concise, well-organized message body appropriately utilizing relevant information to explore
o Industry performance
o Relevant industry trends/features
o Outlook
o Products & markets
o Competitive landscape
o Operating conditions

• Clearly introduce appropriate visual elements for effective information design and reader comprehension

• Conclude with a brief summary and closing statement appropriate for a wide audience

• Using at least 7 articles:
o Cite each article at least once
o Maximum of 2 quotes only in the entire body of your document
o Introduce at least 1 citation with a signal phrase in the body of your document
o Introduce at least 1 citation without a signal phrase in the body of your document
NOTE: Use/review the “Online Citations in APA” document on D2L to format citations

In your Reference Page, demonstrate your ability to
• Compose a properly formatted reference page
• Create correct reference entries appropriate for your 7 or more articles
