Qualitative analysis and interpretation is messy work. With only the text/observation in front of us, it is our job as researchers to develop a rigorous and systematic way of analyzing that information and developing conclusions. At the heart of this process is making inferences and deconstructing the text. For this discussion, please refer to the Activity Materials below this discussion in Canvas. Read through the document and answer the following:
1) Based on the text, what type of correspondence is this? What is its purpose?
2) What is the relationship between the sender and the recipient?
3) When/where do you think these artifacts were generated?
4) What are some THEMES we can pull from this letter – that is, what does the letter tell us about the person writing them?
5) What are the limitations of our findings given their status as artifacts rather than primary data?
