the first two pages are on the textbook backwater blues and then the second two pages are the connection of the artist and then the last two are the connection between two of the text readings

the textbook also used in this is called Give Me Liberty!: An American History

Book by Eric Foner volume 2 . the chapters are 15-21

The term paper, which include the following:

1. A brief summery of Backwater BluesThe Mississippi Flood of 1927 In The African American Imagination

Discuss the plight of African Americans, during this era; and how that hardship was enhanced due to the flood.

Discuss how the author draws from other authors’ work, and blues musicians, to show how African Americans told the story about the 1927 disaster; and how they fared.

2. Include a brief description of the work of one of two authors (Richard Wright, or Zora Neal Hurston), whom the author referenced in the book.

Discuss some the other author’s work (Zora Neale Hurston or Richard Wright); and how it ties into Backwater Blues.

Use the references attached below, or other work by the author.

3. How does, what is depicted in Backwater Blues… , augment what your are learning in the text book?

Refer to material that we have covered, regarding discrimination against African Americans.

In your conclusion, indicate how the knowledge derived from the text book and Backwater Blues… affected your outlook, regarding how African Americans have been treated in this country (you may make comparisons with the plight of other groups (or not), such as Chinese, Native Americans, Some European groups (Irish, Italians from Southern Italy, Eastern Europeans).

The paper should be six pages (two pages for each of the fore mentioned sections), or more.

The paper should be double spaced (no extra spaces between the paragraphs, just indent). If you use material from another source, just indicate the source and page number in parentheses (i.e. Down by the Riverside, page 10) Have the paper proof read to avoid errors, Points will be deducted for errors. You may submit the paper prior to 11/13 (at least a week before). I will point out errors; and return it to you to make corrections.
