Waging War
Instructions
Although World War II is popularly perceived as one of the most morally unambiguous conflicts in world history, with good and evil sides easily defined, some historians argue that the lines between the two are less clear-cut.
As your initial post, consider how the allied forces conducted their air war and address at least two of the following questions in your response:
• Were practices such as strategic bombing or the dropping of atomic bombs legitimate means of pursuing war aims?
• Should such practices be considered war crimes?
• Did these practices serve military purposes that could not have otherwise been feasibly achieved?
In responding to classmates’ posts, address at least one area of agreement or disagreement with the opinion stated, and support your point of view using at least one source.
