Think of it as an op-ed column, directed at the basic reader without a knowledge of demography. Your task in each essay is to explain and persuade your reader on some issue relevant to our course.

You should note the source of any direct quotes, factual material, or ideas you learned from other sources. I do not care which citation style you use (e.g., APA, MLA, etc.) so long as you are consistent.
