Thesis statement and final essay outline
Paper details
This is the third step in drafting your final essay. You will submit a tentative thesis statement followed by an outline of your proposed final essay. This outline must include a brief summary of the major points you will make in support of your thesis, a description of how your secondary sources connect to your argument, and at least one counterargument to your thesis and your response to that counterargument. If you are unable to think of a viable counterargument, then you do not have a strong thesis. Finally, your outline must briefly address the “so what?” component of your final essay. Why is your thesis relevant or significant to a reader of whatever narrative you have worked on?
