The story of an hour

Instructions
Discuss Mrs. Mallard’s sense of repression in the story. You may want to discuss the setting and the concept of “free,” as well as the setting. How does is reflect the sense of repression in the story? What are some important symbols of freedom in the story?

Five paragraphs, each of which is well-developed (follow the sample essay / advice in the text, pp. 1,589 – 1,605).
MLA-formatted (see samples in your textbook).
Include both primary and secondary quotes (primary is from the stories, secondary is something from the AVL / another trusted source.) Do not use Shmoop, Sparknotes, eNotes, and other such websites that feature advertising. Use the AVL.
Insert a clear thesis at the bottom of the introduction and use strong topic sentences (body paragraphs) to connect things together.
Beware of excessive plot summary. Rather explain why your observations and details are important (analysis.)
