SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGMENT

Using the knowledge and understanding you have gained though the material presented in this course, and building on the foundation work carried out in the preparation week, choose an industry sector : (a) discuss the supply chain or logistics-based challenges facing the sector (or a particular organization operating within it), and (b) focus on the root causes of the problem or challenge and set out the basis for a solution
Part A: 1500 words: Weighting – 40% of total grade.
Part B: 2000 words: Weighting – 60% of total grade.
NOTE: Both individual assignments should be submitted together as one document, clearly labelled as Part A and Part B.
Cite at least 20 current sources (books & journals)
*. Cite all sources appropriately in the body of the paper. Avoid plagiarism
*. Use margins of 1.5 in on all four sides, Times New Roman font in 12 point size, and double spaced text.
*. Assemble the paper as follows:
• Title page
• Abstract of no more than 200 words
• Table of contents
• Main body of your report
• References

Remit understanding & interpretation
Use of supporting evidence & application of knowledge
Structure, argument & development of issues
Conclusions and recommendations
Overall

Individual Assessment:
Using the knowledge and understanding you have gained though the material presented in this course, and building on the foundation work carried out in the preparation week, choose an industry sector and outline the supply chain or logistics-based challenges facing the sector (or a particular organisation operating within it) and:
Part A: 1500 words: Define the problem and set out a remit for a consultant that clearly describes the scope of an investigative project to find a solution for the client.
Part B: 2000 words: Carry out the investigation and prepare consultants initial report that will focus the client attention on the root causes of the problem or challenge and set out the basis for a solution. This paper should demonstrate a good understanding of the challenges but also reflect on the how the challenges link to current academic approaches to the subject.
NOTE: Both individual assignments should be submitted together as one document, clearly labelled as Part A and Part B.
