Social Innovation: Achieving Sustainable Development Goals through Business,Mini-Project on Good Practices

There are already many great social innovations. Before we embark on building new
proposals, it is prudent to look around and learn from good practices that already
exist. As a group, you are to pick an existing social innovation, and analyze the
following:
• Innovativeness of the initiative: What social problems does it tackle? Is the
idea new and inspiring? Is it useful from the perspective of the targets?
• The overall impact of the initiative: To what extent does the initiative help
address one or more SDGs? How effective is it?
• The business benefits of the initiative: Is the initiative profitable, scalable,
replicable, and sustainable?
• Key challenges and success factors: Has the organization overcome challenges
to be where it is? What is its competitive advantage in the space? Are there
obstacles ahead?
