S4P team progress report due/ period 4 decision due
Instructions:
• Review the Background Info, resources, tasks, etc. in the simulation.
• Using the template provided create a project charter for the project in Sim4Project™
• Using the template provided create a project scope statement for the project in Sim4Project™ (due next week)
Tips:
Remember your team is the project manager for the project in Sim4Project. Create the documents from this perspective. The simulation Background Info tab will NOT provide you with enough detail to create these documents. You must expand on the given scenario as needed to create complete and reasonable documents. You should brainstorm ideas as a team.
Examples:
You will need to create Team Operating Principles as part of the charter. What would be reasonable choices for your virtual team?
You will need to create a list of stakeholders. The owner(s) of the company are not provided in the Background Info. Is this a privately owned company or a publicly traded company? You decide! Based on this decision, who are the highest level stakeholders in the company?
Sim4Projects™ Team Project Progress Reports
After each period in the simulation is processed, the team will prepare a Project Progress Report and post in the Group Discussion Board. One team member will then submit a copy to the group assignment link in Blackboard. Participation throughout the simulation is necessary to prepare for the final project paper. Plan time to discuss and make decisions with your team prior to due dates. Team members will receive points weekly for their work on the simulation. All team members should plan to contribute fully each period. In general, based on the team report, level of participation will be reported by the team and considered for grade points.
Levels of participation
5 – Fully communicated and participated with team in the simulation. Takes initiative to review simulation prior to due date and offers suggestions regarding what work/tasks are needed, what resources (who) are needed and who should be assigned. Contributes to dialog in Group Discussion Board. Meets all responsibilities as outlined in the Team Contract/Agreement.
4 – Actively contributed to the discussion and decision-making process. Takes initiative to complete most responsibilities as listed in level 5. Meets most responsibilities as outlined in the Team Contract/Agreement.
3 – Average participation in the team effort. Completes assigned tasks-could do more to assist the decision-making process as shown on level 5. Meets some responsibilities as outlined in the Team Contract/Agreement.
2 – Less than average participation. Participates in the Group Discussion and agrees with the decisions-could do more to assist decision-making process as shown on level 5
1 – Communicates with team during the processing period and asks questions but does not offer suggestions/solutions. May require mentoring from other team members.
0 – No communication/contribution during processing period. The team should continue to “reach out” to the student via the Group Discussion Board e-mail function and copy the instructor. The team member is at risk for failure to complete the required final project. If there is a question about participation, the student must contact the instructor prior to the next period and provide documentation to indicate level of participation.
