1. How can employers go about selecting individuals with personality traits that are compatible to the demands of the work environment? Explain.
2.Briefly discuss the history of the utility of personality in the field of psychology.
3.What is the definition of Personality, and does it seem to you that personality is important in selection? Why?
4. Look at TABLE 12.1 “Personality Traits for a Sample of Jobs Studied in Selection” – Discuss the dimensions of personality as they relate to the jobs presented. Do you agree with this typology? What about you? What traits make you suited for your job?
5. Now look at Table 12.2: “A Hierarchical Representation of the 30 NEO Personality Sub-facets Mapped onto 10 Facets by DeYoung, Quilty, and Peterson (2007) onto the Five Factor Model” -Choose one of the Big Five broad traits, and discuss what you think of its facets and sub-facets.
