Purpose of Education
A critical review of ‘What is Education For? On Good Education, Teacher Judgement, and Educational Professionalism’
Introduction:
Provide a summary of the author’s views on the: purpose of education and how they relate to, or contrast with, the models of education discussed in Unit 2 – the human capital, rights-based or capabilities models (200 words).
- In the opening section you are expected to demonstrate an understanding of at least one of the models of education introduced in Unit 2 and apply it to the paper you have selected. You do not need to refer to all three models in your response but doing so will increase your opportunities for offering a critical response to this task. You are expected to refer to the views of authors discussed in the module. Your response could also include insights you have gained from Week 2 Activity 5of the badged course.
