Power Point Presentation
Select one of the countries from the following list: Afghanistan, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Malawi, Rwanda, Uganda, Yemen, Iraq, Somalia, Sudan, Haiti, Uzbekistan, Cambodia, Laos, Ethiopia, El Salvador, Guatemala, or North Korea.
If you have a strong interest in a country that is not on this list, please get in touch with me to discuss and approve your choice by the second week of class.
Engage in research. Draw upon our assigned texts and a minimum of three scholarly journal articles. Which of the contributing factors discussed in class have contributed to this country’s underdevelopment? Through research, evaluate the influence of five of the topics on your chosen country’s development. For example, examine the importance of colonialism (if relevant), foreign aid, gender roles, political institutions, and the environment. Conclude with an analysis of which of the variables you believe is most important. Going forward, what action would you like to see to improve the country’s development?
Present your findings and summary as a Power Point Presentation. The presentation should be 15 slides. Make your slides visually attractive and informative. Take advantage of the text box beneath each slide to discuss your findings (include in-text citations as you discuss these findings beneath each slide). Include your references at the end of the slide.
