Marginalized Paper (Poverty)
Write a research paper on the biblical foundations for ministry of and among a particular marginalized group in our own day that you choose to study (e.g., immigrants, the economically poor, or people with disabilities, etc.).

Follow the outline below and use at least 3 academic sources (books from the library or journal articles) outside those used in class that directly apply to Part 1, i.e. particular passages of Scripture you’re looking at.
Part 1 (3-4 pages): Reflect on what the Bible says as a whole concerning the group you have chosen. Note any differences between different parts of the bible’s presentation (i.e., does the Old Testament perspective shift in the New Testament?). Use at least 3 academic commentaries for this section.Part 2 (1 page): Reflect on challenges facing that marginalized group today, as well as the church’s response to that group. Include and cite sources to defend your argument.Part 3 (1 ½-2 pages): Write a sermon, sermon outline, bible study, or article for a church newsletter based on your study that helps congregants understand the biblical message concerning your chosen group and that ends with at least 2 concrete application points for the listeners or the church as a whole. The sermon should be derived from Part 2 and 3, and include explanation of a passage or passages from your study. The idea is that Part 1 and 2 prepare you to communicate clearly and biblically about a marginalized group to a group of normal Christians.
