Literature and Philology
DIRECTIONS: Write a three page essay answering one of the questions listed below . The essay must follow the MLA 8TH edition format, be double-spaced, the correct heading and title and Work Cited page.
You must provide citations from the literature to support your views. The essay must include, two in-text citations, per supporting paragraph and a Work Cited page, with three references, two must be literary sources, and the final source can be the textbook.
SELECT ONE OF THE STATEMENTS BELOW TO WRITE YOUR ESSAY.
1. Relate the action or situation from the story to your own experience. Explain how the story is relevant to you. Provide an explanation of how reading the literature helped you to view your circumstances more clearly. Be sure to use the elements of fiction as part of your explanation.
2. Select two or three brief passages from the story and explain their significance. Consider how the passages impact the plot structure, setting, characterization and overall theme.
