Research paper demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the: foundational tenants and
beliefs of the religion; the central or focused figure or object of worship; religious practices;
the historical and practical influence on the world, society, and culture; and, a conclusion
regarding the religion chosen as to how it challenged or validated the student’s
presuppositions or preunderstandings of the religion and how it added an academic- and
theological-perspective to their knowledge.
Writing Style and Grammar (30 points)
Research paper is structured, well-written, fluid, easily read and thoughts are communicated
well.
Research paper is written in Times New Roman font and double spaced.
Research paper is structured with:
1)title page containing Course name, course number and section, instructor name, your
name, and date due;
2)table of contents listing sections of paper;
3)introduction;
4)content of paper with listed sections as headings;
5)a conclusion;
References (10 points)
Research paper is cited according to the Chicago Notes/Bibliography writing/citation style
and includes a bibliography with primary, scholarly, and/or theological sources at least a
minimum of three (3).
Word Count Sufficiency (10 Points)
Research paper meets minimum necessary word count of 1400 words
