INDIVIDUAL REFLECTIVE PRESENTATION

You are expected to produce an Individual Reflective Presentation on the achievement of the learning outcomes of this module. Learning outcomes assessed in this task are listed below.

LO1: Effective management of yourself and your academic work

LO2: Integration of information from appropriate sources of literature to enhance and support your academic and reflective writing

LO3: An understanding of academic integrity, strategies to avoid plagiarism and referencing.

You are expected to make direct reference to the activities carried out in the module using relevant evidence. Examples of evidence you can refer to include, but are not limited to, formative assessment, summative assessment, feedback, online engagement on Minerva, materials produced during the course, evidence of discussion with your tutor.

Assessment 2: Guidance

It is recommended that that reflections are structured making use of one of the frameworks for reflective writing e.g.  Kolb’s Reflective Cycle. In your reflection be explicit about the framework for reflection you are employing and structure you are covering for each of the phases of the framework and in each of the phases, ensure you make explicit reference to each one of the three learning outcomes of the module. The following is a recommended structure for your individual reflection presentation.

  • Introduction: present the content and structure of your reflection. Introduce the framework chosen, justifying your choice.
  • Reflection: apply the framework, by reflecting on each one of its components and linking them to your learning in the module. Ensure you make adequate use of evidence. Consider what you enjoyed in the module, what skills you found difficult and what skills you wanted to improve upon.
  • Conclusion and future actions: conclude your reflection providing an overall assessment on your achievements of the learning outcomes in the module. Identify what you learnt and what actions you will put in place in the future to become an even more effective learner. I.e. If you intend to improve upon your note taking skills, how do you intend to do this? What resources will you need to make this happen? Are there any additional courses you could attend which would help? How often will you practice this? Etc.
