3 QUESTIONS TO ANSWER IN ESSAY FORMAT
Just as Gilgamesh had a lot to tell us about cultural values in Sumerian society, so the visual artwork produced in Mesopotamia and Ancient Egypt have a lot to tell us about the cultures that produced them.
Focusing either on just Egypt or Mesopotamia and Egypt, identify an important theme/value/set of values that is (are) represented in visual art, and describe how representative examples represent these values. You can answer the question by:
(1) Comparing how a particular value (set of values) is represented in Mesopotamian vs Egyptian art and or architecture.
(2) Identifying a particular value (set of values) and demonstrating how it is represented in multiple examples of Egyptian art/architecture.
