History

• How well it demonstrates a careful and thoughtful reading of the book,
• The insights that it provides into American history (Does it reflect important themes in the course?)
• The imagination and sophistication with which it is written.
• Is it cited.
• Does the paper convey understanding of the book and how it relates to the course content.

The length of the paper must be at least 5 pages, doubled spaced, 12 pt font, 1-inch margin. Be intellectually creative—using goofy fonts and colors only make you seem unprofessional.
Instead of a book review, I would like you to choose a particular theme or themes introduced by Calloway in the book you find interesting. Perhaps it the impact of diseases in early America, or the role of women, or a comparison/contrast of religious beliefs or how various groups valued the land. Most importantly, the paper should convey what you think about the book–aka, what you learned from reading New Worlds for All.

I have a digital version of the book available in an online library account. You will have to log in with the info I provide.
