Discuss three examples of how the more “radical” approaches to equality for African- Americans such as those expressed by Malcolm X and the Black Panther Party were different from that of the “mainstream” non-violent Civil Rights movement, as expressed by Martin Luther King and those who engaged in the political system. Consider in your analysis which approaches were more successful from the perspective of the 1960s and 1970s. Why?
