Hendry, Ch. 7 pp. 115-130 “Religious Influences”

*Hendry does not define the term, religion, and explains why she thinks this is appropriate. Some scholars of Japanese religion find the term, worldview, useful, which can incorporate a variety of definitions of religion.

“To delineate a worldview is to specify how a given group of people understands itself to be related to the physical body, to the social order, and to the universe, and to show how its members think, feel and act based on that understanding.” Helen Hardacre (1986, pp. 7-9)

Without going into undue detail, identify important influences on your worldview. Are any of the categories mentioned by Hendry among them (Shinto, Buddhism, Taoism and folk religion, Confucianism, Christianity, New religion (e.g., cults), magic, science, religion)? (5-7 sentences)
