Plagiarism and Citation
● Plagiarism is defined by UCSB (Office of Judicial Affairs) as the use of another’s idea or words without
proper attribution or credit.
● You do not have to use secondary sources for papers in this class. But if you do (including internet
sources), you must cite them.
● Citing a source means that you show, within the body of your text, that you took words or ideas from another
place.
● In order to cite: https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/747/02/
● Plagiarism will result in an F and a referral to Judicial Affairs.
