FILM 425 History of Film until 1967

How have films evolved in the United States from the 1930s, 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s? Cite examples from our course films and focus on technology, genre, and historical circumstances. How has the evolution of each of these three factors (technology, genre, and history) led cinema to evolve over these decades? Be specific, and quote relevant passages from our course texts and the films.
