Environmental Discussion

The Superfund law was controversial from the beginning, and especially its liability regime. For the Discussion board this week, please reflect on this aspect of the law by answering these questions:
1. In your view, is the liability regime a fair way to hold individuals, companies, and others responsible for cleanup of Superfund sites?
2. What might be an alternative approach that would provide sufficient resources for the task, but not generate as much resistance from those affected?
3. Should we revise the Superfund law to change the liability regime?
