There are many two main types of coffee bean. They are arabic and robusta. Around 70% of the world’s coffee production is from arabica beans. Arabica beans have a sweeter, sugary taste. Robusta beans make up the other 30% of production. They have a stronger taste, and twice the caffeine content.

Coffee was first discovered in Africa over 800 years ago. It was introduced to the Middle East in the 1400’s where the first coffee house later opened. In the 1600’s coffee appeared in Venice and then spread throughout Europe and then to America.

Passage 5
To make a really good espresso coffee using our machine, follow these steps. Firstly, choose quality coffee beans and grind them ready to make your coffee. Next, prepare the coffee machine by filling it with water. Turn it on and wait for the light to show the water is hot. Measure a tablespoon of ground coffee and put in in the machine with your cup under it. Finally, press the button and watch your tasty coffee drip into the cup.

Coffee is a drink made from the seeds of a tropical plant after grinding and roasting. Examples of coffee drinks include café latte, cappuccino, espresso, long black, mochaccino and numerous iced coffee frappes.

After you finished making fresh coffee, the coffee grounds are usually thrown in the rubbish. But people are now thinking cleverly about how to recycle it. Here are two products that can be made from coffee grounds. Firstly, beautiful ink paintings can be made using the coffee colouring instead of paint. There is also a newly designed ‘coffee printer’ that uses coffee grounds as ink and can be refilled.

On the positive side, coffee improves your physical performance, helps you focus and stay alert, and brightens your mood. On the other hand, coffee can make your restless and unable to sleep and can cause headaches. As you can see, drinking a lot of coffee has positive and negative effects.

Passage 9:
The process of making instant coffee involves seven stages. The first stage, extraction involves brewing coffee in extraction equipment. Secondly, the coffee is filtered to improve concentration. Then another process is carried out to take out the smell or coffee aroma. Next is dehydration or drying. After that the coffee beans are sprayed again with the aroma taken out in Step 3. The final stage is packaging the coffee to keep it dry for later sale.

In a café latte, the short espresso shot gives it a wonderful strong coffee flavour and a fantastic smell. The steamed milk makes it frothy and feels good in my mouth. I love the feeling I get sipping this drink, especially when I sit in a beautiful traditional Italian café surrounded by other customers having fun. Café Latte is the best.
