Community Resource Presentations
Working with children requires knowledge of services available in the community to assist families in need. There is a broad range of services available, but many parents are unaware of how to access these services. For this project, students will create an electronic Community Resource Notebook. You will highlight a community of your choosing (you may live there, work there, lived there in the past, want to live there someday…). Examples: La Verne, Rancho Cucamonga, San Diego, Portland, Boston…). The “notebook” will be designed using PowerPoint or Prezi or other video platform and should follow this format:
Name of Community Agency
Community Served by Agency
Services Available to Participants
Visual Representation of Services (pictures, clip art, logos, etc…)
Hyperlinked URL for Agency Home Page
You must have at least one entry (page) for each of the following:
(1) Food Bank or Housing Assistance
(2) Low Cost Clothing/Shoes
(3) Health Clinic
(4) Low Cost Counseling Services
(5) Services for Children with Disabilities
(6) Low Cost Child Care/Preschool Education (Head Start, State Preschool, etc.)
(7) Parenting Classes
(8) Domestic Violence Shelters

You will record yourself presenting your electronic notebook to the class
