BUSINESS PROBLEM: There are 12.3 million jobs in nonprofit organizations (NPOs) in the United States, which provide services to their local communities (Bureau of Labor Statistics [BLS], 2019). Due to their reliance on traditional funding sources such as government grants and donor contributions, many NPO leaders fail to remain operational beyond 5 years (Maboya & McKay, 2019). Raffo et al., (2016), reported that 83% of NPO leaders identified challenges with securing funding for their organizations beyond traditional funding sources. The general business problem is that some leaders of NPOs fail to remain operational beyond 5 years. The specific business problem is some NPO leaders lack marketing and funding strategies to sustain their nonprofit organizations beyond 5 years.
