Bipolar Disorder
- Select a mental health issue (topic you signed up for in class) and identify your geographical area/community you reside in. Make sure to describe demographics of your community and relate it with your topic.
- Identify 2 community resources available within your geographical area (except Local community hospital in units/online help services)that can be used to help treat the mental health issue that you have selected. These should be located within 20km of where you live. Explain clearly how the resources you have identified would be beneficial/support patients with your assigned topic.
- Utilize evidence based literature to explore
- a) Psychosocial OR cultural OR spiritual considerations for assigned topic in your community and
- b) explore similar considerations for indigenous Canadian population.
- Identify 2 evidence–based nursing interventions using scholarly research articles that you could implement to care for a patient with your assigned topic & give the rationale. Must use scholarly journal article to support the nursing actions/intervention you identify.
- Identify 1 evidence–based nursing intervention related to indigenous health knowledge and healing practices & give the rationale. Must use scholarly journal article to support the healing practices/ intervention you identify.
