Analyze the role of religion in early exploration and settlement of the Americas

provide specific examples of the ways religion influenced the people who came to America. How did it influence their perceptions of Native Americans? Why was it a significant factor in the drive to explore and settle new territories? How did it influence the Spanish conquistadors and priests, the English in Jamestown, and the Puritans in the development of their cultures? What were the differences and similarities in each settlement? What were the consequences of their behavior?
Next, describe the ways in which religion still plays an integral part in American society today. Discuss whether religion has gained or lost importance in American culture.
