Accreditation

Instructions
This assignment requires that you establish a project timeline for seeking accreditation for your agency. Prior to starting your project, you will want to review available accreditation options such as the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems (CAMTS), the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS), or the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
You will be making the timeline and presenting it at your next management meeting. You may create a video or podcast format in which you cover the issues listed below.
 Explain the purpose of the accreditation.
 Detail the steps that should be followed when your agency begins pursuing accreditation. The article “The Case for CAAS,” which is one of your reading assignments in this unit, contains an example of the steps that would be followed. Make sure that you adapt those steps to reflect what you would do for the accreditation option that you have chosen instead of just basing it on CAAS.
 Identify any barriers to success regarding accreditation that your agency may experience and how they might be handled.
Your video or podcast must be no less than 3 minutes and no more than 5 minutes. Before beginning to record your video or podcast, create a written transcript of it that is at least one page in length in a Word document. Your transcript should utilize a minimum of two outside sources. All sources should be formatted using APA formatting for both in-text and reference citations.
You may record your video or podcast with any device such as a phone or webcam. If you are creating a video, you should ensure that you and your surrounding environment present a professional appearance just as if you were presenting in person before a board. Once you have created your video, you will upload it to YouTube. Copy and paste the link to your video at the end of your written transcript.
