Textbook: Photography: A Cultural History, Chapters 10 and 11
These chapters cover the postwar and early cold war periods (1945–1975). Chapter 10 looks at how photography reveals America and the myth of modernist progress after World War II. Chapter 11 introduces postmodernism as a response to this disillusioned mind-set and explores the rise in photojournalism as a sign of political and social unrest. The chapters support the journal assignment, which looks at photography as a vehicle of protest and identity politics.
