pros or cons of college sports, liberal arts education versus technical education, etc.

Your annotations will include the following:
1. SUMMARY: Students must follow the guidelines of the informative summary. The first sentence must
mention the title of the text, the name of the author, and the author’s purpose/thesis. State the work’s
main ideas and key points simply, briefly, and accurately in YOUR OWN WORDS. If you borrow a
word, a phrase, or sentence from the text, put it in quotation marks and include a proper in-text citation.
See in-text citations in (Hacker APA). Limit yourself to presenting the text’s KEY points. Write in third
person point of view.
2. EVALUATION: Students must evaluate the ethos/credibility of each source. This can include the
writer’s background and any information in the text that demonstrates his/her credibility (Consider the
following: Does the write use proper documentation when using sources? Does the writer offer expert
opinions? Does the writer establish his/her own knowledge of the topic? How? Does the writer use
proper language for the audience?).
3. ASSESSMENT: Students must evaluate how they might use the source in their own work (background
information/context, support, opposition’s position) or how the source is helping them form their own
research question. This can be written in first person point of view.
Students must include five sources. These sources must be listed in alphabetical order. Students must format
their sources correctly in APA Format
