American National Government

THE ASSIGNMENT:
As part of this class you have become critical thinkers. You have learned to: (a) identify important political issues and problems in the US, (b) analyze them from all sides/perspectives, (c) identify the various “solutions” offered and, in many instances, implemented by the federal government, and (d) objectively critique/evaluate the success/failure of the same without regard to ideology, party affiliation, outside influence and/or personal bias, at least as much as possible.

In doing so you learned the importance of having an open mind, reliable information, independent research (not just taking someone’s word for it), questioning statements made or released to the public, as well as other factors. As part of the process you have considered, among other things, relevant historic, economic, social, political, cultural and geopolitical facts and events. At some point you have assessed the foregoing, made independent judgments and reached informed and supportable conclusions regarding the above. Keep that in mind.

YOU HAVE BEEN HIRED TO RUN THE CAMPAIGN FOR THE NEXT PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. YOU ARE THE CAMPAIGN MANAGER. AS SUCH, YOU ARE REQUIRED TO IDENTIFY SEVERAL PLATFORM ISSUES, PROGRAMS, PLANS, CRITICISMS/SUCCESSES OF THE CURRENT PRESIDENT AND HIS ADMINISTRATION AND SOLUTIONS GOING FORWARD FOR YOUR CANDIDATE. YOU MUST ALSO STATE AND EXPLAIN HOW YOUR CANDIDATE WILL WIN AND IMPLEMENT HIS/HER PROMISES/PLATFORM/PROGRAMS.

YOUR CANDIDIATE MAY BE PRESIDENT TRUMP (WHO IS SEEKING RE-ELECTION) OR ANY OF THE VIABLE DEMOCRATIC CADIDATES WHO REMAIN IN/ENTER THE RACE. YOU MUST BE SURE TO “TAKE ON” YOUR CANDIDATE’S COMPETITOR’S RECORD AND ALSO DEFEND YOUR CLIENT’S RECORD AS WELL. ALSO, YOU SHOULD ASSUME THAT THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES HAS ISSUED ARTICLES OF IMPEACHMENT AGAINST PRESIDENT TRUMP AND THAT SUCH ARTICLES WERE EITHER DISSMISSED OR RESULTED IN A SENATE VOTE WHICH DID NOT CONVICT THE PRESIDENT.

2. Write the paper. Be sure to support your statements of fact and arguments with proper authority, facts and citations. Your paper may not be less than 8 type written pages nor more than 12 pages (double-spaced – except for block quotes and footnoted citations). Do not plagiarize. (See University Policy regarding plagiarism and its consequences.) Give proper credit to all sources and cited/quoted material. Use proper format for both quotes and citations in bibliography.

3. As previously stated in class, if the quality of your paper is lacking, no credit will be given for your work. Thus, do a good job. (“Anything worth doing is worth doing well” — Lord Chesterfield, 1746).

DO NOT RETYPE THE QUESTION AS PART OF YOUR PAPER. YOU MAY BREAK YOUR ANSWER DOWN INTO SUBPARTS CONSISTENT WITH EACH ISSUE PRESENTED. THOSE ARE TO BE SINGLE SPACED.
BE SURE TO INCLUDE YOUR SIGNED HONOR PLEDGE AT THE TOP OF THE FIRST PAGE WITH YOUR SIGNATURE.
