journal

Choose any 4 main topics covered over the term. For example, you may use 4 of the seminar topic headings as your framework. Provide an essay-style introduction to your journal which identifies the main topics you will cover, the structure of your journal and the particular content and materials you will use. Ideally, you will work on your journal throughout the term and simply provide finishing touches prior to submission. Please feel free to consult with me about content and format.

Your journal should cover the following areas:
In what ways has your thinking changed over the course?
For the expert writer: This course is a beauty/bodies sociology course
What aspects of selected content really stood out for you?
What questions has your learning inspired? What further research did you undertake and what were the main findings?
Incorporate citations from a minimum of 10 course readings – use selected citations in your work
Incorporate citations from a minimum of 6 additional (outside the course) scholarly sources (i.e., academic journal articles and or books)

Do write in first person (e.g., I feel, I think). Do not simply provide a summary of course content, or offer only personal views or anecdotes. Rather, discussion should be reflective, critical and analytical and make connections between relevant course content and learning activities. For those who are interested in incorporating the creative option(s), you may choose any of the following materials to enhance your work: clip art, word collage photographs, cartoons, GIF; commentary on a television commercials or mainstream movies.

BASIC STRUCTURE

I encourage you to use headings and subheadings to organize your work
