Clinical Leadership
Task: Write an assignment in which you examine authentic leadership theory, and discuss how you would demonstrate the qualities and attributes of authentic leadership in your practice as a nurse . The written assignment will consist of two parts – Part A (1,200 words) and Part B (800 words). Citation and reference : APA 6th addition –
- In Part A of this assessment task you will discuss authentic leadership theory.
- In Part Bof this assessment you will consider how you would demonstrate the qualities and attributes of authentic leadership in your professional practice.
PART A of the assessment :
- Read: Quality source material about authentic leadership (generally and in nursing/midwifery).
- Write: Discuss authentic leadership theory. In your discussion please address: the history of the theory, the key components or features of the theory, what contemporary nursing/midwifery proponents of the theories argue about the theory’s importance to the practice and outcomes of nursing/midwifery leadership.
(This part of the paper requires academic citations. )
PART B of the assessment
1)Reflect: On the qualities and attributes of authentic leadership and how they could be part of your leadership practice.
2)Write: Discuss how you would demonstrate the qualities and attributes of authentic leadership in your professional practice.
This part of the essay should reflect application of the leadership theory and be consistent with Part A. Some citations are still required, but much of this section will be an exploration and discussion about how you would integrate and apply authentic leadership in your practice.
