As the premise for your assignment, you are to create a financial plan for an initiative in the sports and
recreation industry.
Listed below are some ideas for your to consider. You are not restricted to what is on this list. Try and pick
something that interests and that you might have a use for currently or in the future.
IDEA SPECIFICS
Event Create a financial plan for an event. Duration should be between 1 – 4 days
Example: Fundraiser, Athletic Banquet, Sport Expo, Sports Day, Showcase, Conference,
etc…
Program-Based Create a financial plan for a program based business. Your choice on sport, ages,
levels. Duration should be a series between 8 – 16 weeks.
Example: Yoga Studio, Baseball Academy, Tennis Skills, Aquatics programs, Fitness
Training, Sports leagues, etc…
Tournament Create a financial plan for a competitive sport venture. Your choice on sport, ages and
levels. Duration should be a minimum of 2 days
Example: Cricket Tournament, Tennis Challenger, Golf Tournament, Senior Games,
Kids Programs Create a financial plan for a children’s sport or recreation program. Duration should be
greater than one week
Example: Summer Camp, Afterschool Program, PA day camps,
Business Idea Create a financial plan for a business idea you have been thinking of starting (or are
maybe running right now!)
Example: Personal training, coaching, IT related services
Retail Venture Create a financial plan for a retail or service related venture related to the industry.
Example: Equipment, Service, Consultant, Rentals
