The purpose of this assignment is to enable you to obtain familiarity with deploying simple applications in a PaaS environment. Go to the Heroku Dev Center (https://devcenter.heroku.com/) and select the “Getting Started” tutorial for the language of your choice. Follow the tutorial to completion. Write a paper (1-2 pages) describing your experience deploying the sample application and any problems you encountered. Compare the advantages and disadvantages of Heroku compared to a more traditional application development environment and explain how you might take advantage of the PaaS environment when developing an application for an organization with limited resources that expects to scale massively in a short period of time.
Note for Mac users: If you have upgraded your Mac to El Capitan or later, you may need to run “xcode-select –install” in order to get the git command to work.
