Study of inverse-designed 3D photonic waveguide networks

Paper details

This project is about studying the 3d waveguide networks. Formed by either a single rod or a series of sphere fragments. Also, each layer is linked by oblique waveguides. Here, light is confined and guided by wave interference rather than total internal reflection. Such design also provides a new platform for the development of all-optical artificial neural networks (ANNs).
This project will use the plane wave expansion method (MIT Photonic-Bands, MPB) and Finite-Difference-Time-Domain (MEEP-FDTD) method to design and optimize such structures.

FOCUSING ON MPB AND MEEP SOFTWARE TO CREATE INVERSE DESIGNED 3D PHOTONIC STRUCTURES.
Use Harvard Reference.
Expecting a good research paper for the master’s level.
