Assignment 06.1: Midterm Exam
The following is to be completed by EACH student:
What is your selected jurisdiction for this assignment? (Refer to the LP01 Assignment Worksheet if you do not remember.)
Locate crime statistics spanning 10 years for your selected jurisdiction for the following crimes.
murder
robbery
aggravated assault
forcible rape
Create a PowerPoint presentation of no fewer than 8 slides. Present the following information:
crime statistics you located. Be sure to indicate what years your statistics span (i.e., 2000-2015?).
Are there trends, increases, or decreases in any of the four crime categories? If so, to what do you attribute it?
Report the Uniform Crime Report (UCR) statistics for the same crimes and for similar years (as in question three, above). If you work with a partner: Compare and contrast your selected jurisdiction’s statistics with the UCR statistics.
If you work with a partner: At the end of your presentation, include a section in which you compare and contrast the statistics and trends from the two jurisdictions (yours and your partner’s). What do you think explains the differences?
Each PowerPoint presentation should be no fewer than 8 slides NOT including the required title and reference slides. You must use correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, and APA style for all citations and reference slide.
Your presentation requires the use of proper APA style citations.
