The negations were quite successful, and we were able to reach an agreement with Gazi on the acquisition of the cartoon show Ultra Rangers. In the agreement, the price per episode for the show was $60,000. This resulted in the total price for all 100 episodes of the cartoon being $6,000,000. This was slightly larger than our target price of $50,000. However, it fell within the budget set by the management of $60,000.
Strums were also included in the contract, and it was agreed that there would be a strum payment of $30,000 per episode. The seller had hoped to sell strums for $45,000 per episode, given the value of the show. Our target price, on the other hand, for strums was $20,000 per episode. Through a series of back and forth negotiations, we were able to settle on a price of $30,000 per episode for the strums.
In agreeing to compromise on the price for the strums, the seller agreed to also compromise on the number of runs per episode and increase it from 3 to 6. I also managed to convince the seller to agree to forgo financing for the strums in favor of a fixed amount of $30,000 per episode. This would serve to ensure that we maximize the revenue derived from the show. However, it is essential to note that the price paid was below the net value of the cartoon, which stands at $8,400,000.
We agreed that the financing for the show would be fixed at 20% per year starting year one. This was beneficial to us as we would be able to save $1,800,000 and pay the seller $4,200,000 instead of the $6,000,000 required for all 100 episodes. The savings would be beneficial for our company as it would allow us to maximize the amount of profit obtained from the show. Based on the agreed-upon terms, we would be able to generate a net profit of $3,200,000 which is over our target profit value of $3,000,000. This is an indicator that the negotiations were quite successful.
