Imagine that you have the Ring of Gyges in your possession. A person (not your friend or family
member) who you know to be struggling financially just cashed their paycheck and brought it
home. Because you know where this person is keeping the money you can sneak into their
house and take it. If you have that money you will be able to finally buy something that you
have always wanted. Would you steal the money? Why/why not? What does your answer to
this question say about the truth or falsity of the thesis of psychological egoism? Explain.
