opportunity gap in education
Closing the achievement and opportunity gap in education takes more than being an effective teacher inside the classroom. Thus far in my education career, I discovered that many outside factors contribute to inequity in the school system. This knowledge made me passionate to pursue my Ph.D., because I believe that research, educating, and advocacy, to aid the public school system is one of the effective ways I can serve, protect, and improve my community. I am applying for the teaching assistantship and research position because I need the funding for my full-time experience in the leadership in education program. Additionally, I desire the skills, knowledge, and guidance, I will get from the opportunity, that will help me become a professor, as well a leader in one of the urban education systems in Massachusetts
