Here’s what I mean: after your really interesting teaser about what the phrase “black ram”
represents about the lead character and the play, the thesis asserts that Othello’s (relationship?)
insecurity is his downfall… but then at the conclusion, the claim seems to be about whether the
playwright and/or play was racist. Each of these seems like its own claim worthy of an essaylength argument. See what I mean by “not quite focused enough”?
My own $.02? Your outline seems most interested in insecurity as poor Othello’s
undoing, as shown in this tentative thesis: Othello who is couragous in war, well respected by
his peers, brave, able to take leadership role, become so insecure and loose control to commit
