Ponder some of the themes we have pursued throughout the course, e.g. education, culture, social groups, gender issues, ethnoculture, etc., and use that knowledge to consider and discuss the likelihood that negotiated and participatory political change in US can result in some sort of democratic socialist state (or social order). In your paper, (i) a theoretical perspective with which to make sense of political-economic systems (e.g. American state) needs to be made explicit, kept in mind throughout your work and applied conscientiously, (ii) the terms ​state​ and ​democratic socialism​ must be defined, (iii) and an explanation of how you understand the American state (type or form) provided.
