Access and Functional Needs Populations
In this assignment, you’ll reflect further on the module readings and the prior discussion to detail what you can do as an emergency manager to assist diverse vulnerable populations in an evacuation. Consider best practices that were captured from previous disasters such as Hurricane Katrina, Hugo, or Ivan.
Write a 2-3 page paper which addresses the following questions:
What can emergency managers do to help identify and prepare stakeholders who need assistance to evacuate?
What are some strategies we can use to best support those populations during pre-disaster evacuation?
